FixX is a community bike shop that helps young people into sustainable employment by building confidence, purpose and resilience through mechanics training, work placements and mentoring. We are a non-profit Hartcliffe community organisation who sell second-hand bikes, offer good quality mechanical repairs and a door-to-door bicycle courier service at competitive prices.
Set up in 2017 by local youth workers and residents as a response to growing sense that young people were seen as a source of problems in the community. We know the things they are capable of if given the right support and opportunities.
We saw that a small community-owned business that helps young people learn by doing and builds positive pride in the community could start to overcome negativity inside and outside the area.
Many young people we work with love bikes and fixing things. There is no bike shop in Hartcliffe so it was a natural choice to begin FixX, the Hartcliffe Bike Workshop.
The value of young people we work with is shown in the quality of the mechanical work in the bikes we have for sale. Please browse our online shop or pay us a visit at our workshop on The Groves. Drop us a message for more information...
